Esperanza Resort Travel Guide

We finally made it to paradise! And by paradise, we mean Esperanza resort in Cabo San Lucas.

With a touch of luxury, amazing hospitality, and all the fixings for a perfect relaxing getaway, we were heaven from day one. The trip was initially booked way back in 2019 for a mid-year 2020 pick me.

Obviously, plans changed but Esperanza came to the rescue and let us postpone until we could finally make the trip a possibility. It was well worth the wait and now we can't wait to go back.

Where To Stay

Casita

We stayed in the oceanview spa casita and give it a solid 10/10. We're not sure which part was our favorite but our private infinity hot tub and balcony are probably the top contenders.

Having a giant tub and two shower heads also made for an extreme luxury bathroom situation. Oh, and did we mention we got a private concierge and fancy transportation to/from the airport?

Being able to relax in our room was key since Phil can only handle so much sun. At the end of every day, there's a turndown service including essential oils and candles galore.

Villas

Since there were only two of us, we decided the villas were not the best fit but if you are looking for a group trip the villas are the way to go. There are two, three, and even four-bedroom options with a full kitchen and living area set up.

So grab your closest friends and go big with a beach getaway. We suggest opting for a room with a private pool because...why not.

Where to Eat

Cocina Del Mar

Concina Del Mar at Esperanza Resort is the main restaurant on the property and it is amazing. We ate there for every meal and were never disappointed.

The restaurant is cliffside right along the ocean and you can spot crabs along the rocky shoreline. Since we're early risers, even on vacation, we arrived first thing around opening and had the beautiful sea view to ourselves.

We highly suggest getting fresh mango (and a little side of tajin). But a word of warning...the mango is so good it might ruin it for you when you get back home because there's just no comparison.

Room Service

Room service is also provided by the same chefs as Concina Del Mar and we get wanting the view with your meal, but hear us out. At least one meal we suggest going full relaxation and opting for room service.

The rooms at Esperanza are so beautiful it would almost be a waste to not spend a little bit of time there. Even though its no seaside view, the views from the rooms are also top-notch.

Since you're spoiling yourself with room service, feel free to take a page from our book and add a side of fries to every meal. And don't forget dessert because the churros are phenomenal.

What to Do

Beach Cabana

On the way to the resort, our driver informed us that Esperanza is the only private beach resort in Los Cabos. Which made us feel pretty VIP.

Along the beach, there are cabanas and even though some require payment, most are first come first serve. The shoreline is rocky and it's not safe to swim in the ocean but this makes for an even better lounge experience.

The waves crashing into the rocks lull you into relaxation and we found it was less crowded and rowdy than swimmable beaches. We got to a cabana around 10 am most days and typically had the entire beach to ourselves.

Pools

Esperanza more than made up for the lack of swimming in the ocean with plenty of pool options. And these aren't any pools but infinity pools along the shoreline or pools with waterfalls.

The best pools for kids are located by the villas but for adults, there are two "adult-only" options. One of the adult-only pools has a swim-up bar so you can enjoy a drink without even leaving the water.

Our go-to pool was the other adult-only option right by Cocina Del Mar. There were lounge chairs in the water right up to the beach.

Just as one more FYI...the pools, and the cabanas have both a drink and food service. Typically we would pick a spot and within minutes were greeted with towels and water bottles.

Fitness Classes

Esperanza Resort offers free fitness classes every morning. Kelsey did a yoga class each day including beach yoga one morning.

The instructors are great and will adjust in order to make each class tolerable for all levels. You might think exercising while on vacation seems odd but we swear by it.

We try to stay healthy while traveling and the morning classes helped us start each day on the right track.

Visiting Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas

We had such a great time at Esperanza Resort and we barely even touched the surface. This post would need to be 1 million words long to really tell you everything (okay maybe not a million...but a lot more than 1,000)

There was a market our first day, fireworks the next, and other beach events every night after that. A quick glance at their website will show you just how stacked their options are.

We like to find a balance between travel and leisure by getting as many experiences as possible while still focusing on downtime and relaxation. Since we didn't want to overdo it with too much in a day, we'll have to go back for another vacation, or maybe make it a yearly getaway.

And one last thing... We cannot say enough nice things about everyone who worked at the resort. They are so friendly and wonderful in every way possible.
